Frequently Asked Questions
How SVN Auto's listing system works
Answers to the questions buyers, sellers, and cooperating brokers ask most about how our public and private listings actually work.
Public listings are on the open market — visible to any buyer and any cooperating broker, marketed the way a typical commercial listing is marketed. Private listings require registration to view, and are not shared with outside brokers at all — they're only available to buyers inside SVN Auto's own network.
Confidentiality and control. Private listings keep a sale out of public view — protecting employees, customers, competitors, and landlords from finding out prematurely — while still reaching a qualified pool of buyers through SVN Auto's proprietary network. It's the right fit for owners who want to test the market quietly or aren't ready for a public listing.
Complete the buyer registration on this page with your target geography, asset type or business category, and acquisition budget. Once registered, you'll gain access to private, off-market opportunities that aren't visible to the general public or to outside brokers.
No. Private listings stay inside SVN Auto's own buyer database and are not distributed to outside brokerages. That's part of what makes them private — sellers who choose this route are trading broader exposure for tighter control over who sees the opportunity.
On our public listings, SVN Auto splits the brokerage fee 50/50 with any cooperating broker who brings a buyer — the same commission a buyer's broker would earn representing you on any other deal, with no reduced or discounted split for working with us. That's a meaningfully more generous arrangement than is standard in the business brokerage community, where the listing side often keeps the larger share.
Yes — it's one of the more buyer-and-broker-friendly practices in the industry. Many business brokerages offer little to no cooperating-broker compensation, which discourages outside brokers from bringing their buyers to a listing. SVN Auto's even 50/50 split is a deliberate choice to keep our public listings genuinely open to the widest possible buyer pool.
New public and private listings are added on a rolling basis as SVN Auto's business brokerage and real estate teams bring new opportunities to market nationwide. Registered buyers are notified as new private listings matching their criteria become available.
Yes. Once you're registered in SVN Auto's buyer database with your target state, asset type or business category, and budget, your assigned broker will proactively route matching public and private opportunities to you as they come available — including ahead of public listing where possible.
Yes. SVN Auto lists automotive real estate and operating businesses exclusively — tire shops, quick lubes, auto repair, car washes, dealerships, towing companies, parts retailers, and the NNN or owner-occupied real estate underneath any of them.
